125 - The Closest We Get...

So look. We don't really get what you'd call an extreme winter here in Perth. We get the rain and the wind and storms and whatnot it's true, but in terms of the cold it's really pretty mild. So if we want to get our ice skating on it's gotta be an artificial rink.  After being super popular last year, the Perth Cultural Center has again been transformed into 'Winterland' with an ice skating rink, snow dome and 'The Lodge' bar and cafe. It's a pretty cool little area - although if I'm honest I'd rather hang out with a hot chocolate in the Lodge than put on some skates!

  1. Hi Aimee, we are all sweating in this heat wave over here. Looking forward to an ice cold chilling drink to cool down!

  5. Even though I live in Canada, I'd prefer the hot chocolate over skating. Gosh it can hurt when I fall. ;))

  7. Hot apple cider will do in a pinch.

Well, as a Canadian, I can admit that I've never learned how to skate.

  9. I am not much of a winter person so this would be perfect for me! I am like you, I like hanging out with hot chocolate instead of skating! LOL! Love your photos!

  10. I would prefer the hot chocolate rather than skating too.
A lot of people during the day, I didn't see that many people skating on Saturday evening...

  11. You're so lucky to not have harsh winters! I was born and raised in the US Midwest, and even though it's always been home, every winter I want to head south with the birds....

  14. We have a cold summer here up in the north of Europe.... +11C now.
Snow up in the mountains. I am waiting for a day with +20C .... it might take a bit of time.

It looks nice with the ice rink.... I have seen one made in Dubai. People really enjoyed it! Looks like they do in Perth too.
